Who made your website?
Computing Technologies!
How do we get in touch with you?
Our office is at 400 E. Bankhead Street but the most efficient way is by e-mail, to news@newalbanynews-exchange.com Our telephone number is (662) 538-6868. The fax number is (662) 538-6867.
How do I find out your ad rates?
Call one of our advertising representatives, Kim Surber at 316-0607 or Jean Ashcraft at 316-3969. Or call the office at 538-6868. Rates generally include full color and ads run in the print version and on the website. We do have paid classified ads and occasionally some special rates or promotions.
When does your publication come out?
The print version is available early each Wednesday morning and usually arrives for mail subscribers the sam day. The web site is updated at least once daily, however, and usually will be added to more often than that since we have our new, faster website.
Where can I buy a copy of newalbanynews-exchange.com?
We are still setting up distribution but several grocery and convenience stores have our print publication on sale. We are continuing to expand the number of locations where you can find newalbanynews-exchange.com and an updated list appears in the print version from time to time. A mail subscription is $33 per year and you can always view all our content on-line at www.newalbanynews-exchange.com
How much does it cost to put announcements in your publication?
We do not charge to publish obituaries, births, birthdays, engagements, wedding announcements or anniversaries. Classified ads, e-mailed from individuals and not commercial, are also free.
Who are the people behind newalbanynews-exchange.com?
The news web was founded by Lynn West, Jerry Shiverdecker, Kim Surber and Jean Ashcraft. West has nearly 30 years’ experience in local newspaper writing and editing. Shiverdecker has extensive experience in newspaper management as well as writing. Surber has extensive experience in advertising sales and commercial printing. Ashcraft has extensive experience in marketing and sales. All are local residents.
What is the difference between the print and electronic versions?
Very litte. Unlike most traditional newspapers, newalbanynews-exchange.com puts the entire content, including all ads, of its print verson on-line. In fact, because of practical size limitations for the print version, the web site will often contain more stories and photos than the print edition.
Will you charge a subscription fee to access the full content of your web site?
We have absolutely no plans to set up any subscriber system for our web site, or to charge for any access to it.
What determines what news is included in your publication?
We have a very small staff which allows us little time to cover stories in a traditional sense, so we have to rely on news and photos submitted by our readers, schools, officials and anyone else. On the other hand, we usually are able to include everything that is sent to us as news by e-mail, both in the print version and on the web site.
